When you enter the Heifer Market, you will receive a Welcome letter. That letter will explain some things about the Market. It also has a place to record which animals, shares or products you would like to “purchase”.

There will be 12 animal /product booths at this year’s Heifer Market: Pigs, Sheep, Trees, Goats, Cows, Water Buffalo, Water Pumps, Fish, Chickens, Alpacas, Rabbits, and Bees. At each booth there will be information (presented in fun and unique ways) about how that animal or product can make a life-changing difference in the life of a family in need. You can “purchase” an animal or shares of several different animals. Every donation goes to Heifer International who will then deliver the animals and education about the care of the animals to needy families around the globe.

Also, at each booth there will be an activity, craft or game for children and a gift basket to be raffled. Raffle tickets are 1 for $1 or 12 for $10. Many of the baskets have something to do with the animal or product featured at that booth.

When you have enjoyed experiencing each booth, and are ready to check out at the Finance Table, you will receive an additional raffle ticket for every $10 of animal “purchases” you made. Write your name on the back of each ticket and place the tickets by whichever gift baskets you choose. A winning ticket will be drawn for each gift basket near the end of the Market. (About 12:20 pm). Remember to pick up your Honor Cards, too! Your donation can be given in memory or honor of someone you love or even given as an alternative gift for some kind hearted person on your Christmas list.

Watch next week’s E-Blast for information about all the wonderful Silent Auction items! More items keep coming in. This week Mac Chandler has generously offered a week-long stay at his beautiful Beach Condo in Siesta Key as one of the Silent Auction items!

Heifer Living Gift Market

If you could have any gift you wished, what would it be?  Peace on Earth, an end to hunger, clean water, education for a child?  These gifts are closer than you might think.  “Animals and agricultural items” will take over First Presbyterian Church of Brandon at the Heifer Living Gift Market.  This Alternative Gift Market will provide an opportunity to “purchase” Heifer animals like pigs, chickens, fish and goats or Clean Water or tree seedlings as alternatives to commercial holiday gifts. Heifer International works to make dreams like these a reality every single day through caring people like you.

How Heifer Living Gift Market Makes a Difference

Learn how Gifts of animals like sheep help fight hunger, poverty, and homelessness

The “animals” and items purchased will be distributed along with education and training provided to help hungry families around the world through Heifer International. Donors receive specially designed honor cards to designate their purchases to send to their loved ones. “Passing on the Gift” is fundamental to Heifer’s approach to sustainable development.  Recipients share the offspring of their animals, knowledge, resources and skills with others to expand the network of hope and self-reliance that reaches around the globe. For more information about Heifer International, refer to the informative website at www.heifer.org.

A History of Giving

Did you know that FPCB has been working with Heifer International in its mission to end hunger and care for the Earth since 1997? The Heifer Living Gift Market has been a major Mission project at FPCB every other year since then. Over that time, our donations to Heifer have added up to 42 Arks! With each Ark representing $5,000 worth of animals being sent to families and communities in need around the world, you can imagine the impact your gifts have made!

Alternative Gift Giving Opportunity

This year why not send the gift of a Goat, education and training in Aunties’ honor!  Honor cards are available for your gift-giving pleasure. No gift wrap required.
