Service for Comfort and Hope

First Presbyterian Church of Brandon invites members of the community to a Service of Comfort and Hope on Saturday, November 14, at 1:00 p.m. in the church’s softly lit sanctuary at 121 Carver Avenue, Brandon, FL 33510.

While the holiday season is often associated with celebration and joy, it can also be a difficult time for those carrying the weight of grief, illness, loneliness, family estrangement, financial hardship, job loss, or other life challenges. This special service has been planned as an opportunity for anyone seeking peace, encouragement, and hope before the Advent season begins.

Led by the church’s Stephen Ministry with the support of the Worship and Member Care ministries, the service will include gentle music, Scripture readings, prayer, and time for quiet reflection in a welcoming and compassionate setting. The afternoon time was intentionally chosen to make the service more accessible for those who prefer not to drive after dark.

“Our hope is that this service will offer a meaningful opportunity for people to pause, reflect, and experience God’s comfort as they enter the Advent and Christmas season,” said Dawn Trattner. “Whether someone is grieving the loss of a loved one, facing illness, struggling with family relationships, or carrying another burden, we want them to know they are not alone. We hope everyone who attends leaves with a renewed sense of hope and peace.”

The Service of Comfort and Hope reflects First Presbyterian Church of Brandon’s commitment to caring not only for its congregation but also for the broader community. All are welcome, regardless of church affiliation.
